If I want it, I should get it

Back when I used to play the harp, and sell my husband’s hand-crafted harps as part of my business, I frequently heard ‘I want to play the harp!’

It surprised me that so few of the people who expressed this sentiment, some of them quite passionately, never went on to actually play. Why not?

They weren’t willing to:

1) Save up the money and invest in an instrument

2) Put forward the time and effort to learn to play

3) Look like a beginner as they were learning

I see the same thing now that I’m a business coach. I hear transformational entrepreneurs say ‘I want a six-figure business!’ but so many never achieve it. The reasons are the same. They aren’t willing to invest in the training or coaching, or to look like a beginner as they are learning the ropes, or they don’t want to put in the effort to do things that are uncomfortable. (Of course I believe that the way to success is to use tapping to GET comfortable with what you need to do, so success is easier – but even that takes work.)

It’s the nature of being human that we want many things – some we want idly, as the attraction of the moment, and some we passionately desire. But what separates those who succeed from those who merely want is the commitment to turn WANTING into CREATING.

You CREATE when you are willing to:

1) Dream big – bigger than your current life

2) Devote resources to pursue that dream

3) Don’t give up when it gets tough

Nothing worth getting was ever gotten with no challenges. In overcoming those challenges, you become the person who is worthy of what you desire, who easily attracts it, who is a vibrational match for it. Does this mean that creating it will be easy?

The truth is – you’re not creating IT. You’re creating YOU – the you that can achieve it.

What do you want to create?

I added this to my “inspirational quotes” file. Powerful, Pamela! Thanks!
