I’m a geek to the core (duh, right?) and love the Jedis in Star Wars – particularly their training and philosophy.
Lots of people have the Force to some degree, but only a select few become Jedis.
What’s sets them apart? Mastery.
To be a Jedi, you have to master all the skills. No CliffsNotes highlights but true commitment to becoming the best. And that means being willing to fail and try again, over and over until the training becomes a part of you.
What’s your new Jedi skill for 2018?
The same method to becoming a Jedi applies to succeeding in business.
Several years ago, I had put a lot of time and energy into mastering the arts of sales and networking. Today, I can work an event with confidence, get people interested in learning about my business, and sell my high-ticket programs with ease.
But back then, I hadn’t yet become a Jedi at attracting clients online. (I wasn’t even a novice.)
“That means being willing to fail and try again, over and over until the training becomes a part of you.”
So, I committed to mastering it. Got my lightsaber, felt like I was ready to go!
And that first year was…tough. You know I share stuff with you, right?
Here’s the honest truth: I had some efforts fail spectacularly. I struggled. Some efforts were moderately successful. And one or two – well, those, I knocked out of the park 🙂
And today? After those failures, after falling and getting back up again, I now have online systems working all the time for me (so I don’t have to!)
But back then, I hadn’t yet become a Jedi at attracting clients online.
This means I’m reaching prospects and turning them into excited clients even when I’m
- On vacation
- Growing new skills at conferences
- Expanding my business in other areas
- Living the life I dreamed of when I started my coaching business
