The 4 Most Dangerous Words

(and How They’re Hurting Your Business)

There are 4 words that are most dangerous to your business. They’re probably hurting your profits and your ability to make a difference in the world.

Are you using these words in a way that’s hurting your business?

Now, it’s 11:00 in the morning, and I got off a plane at 6:15 this morning, flying on the red eye from California to North Carolina where I live. I was so excited about the business building event I was at this past weekend, I came into the office and started sharing new ideas and partnerships with my team. I went in with, “This is what we’re going to do, and we’re going to get started on it right away, and here’s where it’s going to be.”

Even with just two hours of sleep, I was excited to take action right away.

After going over all the things we have lined up – things we’re really excited about – my team told me about a couple conversations they had with people who are interested in what we do here, how we help people make more money, get to six and seven figures, and scale online. A couple of those people said, “Well, you know, it sounds really cool. I know you can really help, and it will make the difference. So I’ll plan on that – for next year.”

The 4 Most Dangerous Words

The four most dangerous words in your business are, “I’ll do it later.”

I want to ask you this question. How many times are you saying, “I’ll do it later?” How many times are you looking at something that you need in your business, and instead of saying, “Yeah, I’ll do that now,” you comfort yourself with the fact that you’ll do it later?

That’s actually what it is… a comfort to you. Instead of saying something like, “Okay, here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to take this action. I’m going to invest in this. I’m going to schedule myself to do this. I’m going to do this really uncomfortable thing NOW.”

Now, I have never had somebody come to me and say, “I’m going to sign up to work with you in January, because I’m actually going to save $1,500 a month until then. Here’s where I’m going to do it. Here’s the account that I’m going to put it in. Here’s the first deposit into that account.”

Nobody says that. They just say “later.” It’s a comfort thing. Later seems like a good time. Later is safe.

Later Never Happens

I’ve followed up with people who’ve told me, “I know your program can help me, but I’ll do it later.” I talk to those people three years later… They’re still broke, they’re still not helping people, they’re still not making a difference in the world. Every. Single. Time.

Later never happens.

Why It Matters

Here’s the thing. You and the people you can help are unique. You’re going to help people that I’m never going to touch. Only you can get out there and do that.

If you don’t have the tools you need, if you don’t have the know-how you need, if you don’t have the mindset you need, whatever it is that’s standing in your way, next year’s not good enough. Next month is not good enough. Saying, “I’ll do it later” isn’t good enough.

What are you doing now? What are you doing today? How are you going to help yourself? What’s the new resource you’re going to access? Where are you going to dig down inside yourself and say, “I don’t care that I had two hours of sleep, I’m so excited about this, I’m going to take action.”
